A StoryBreak book came home.
Here’s what it is.
A parent made it in our app. It is a decodable text, constrained to a grapheme–phoneme set the parent selected — from their child’s known level, their school’s program, or a placement check we run.
Every word was validated against that set before the child saw it. If a word fell outside, the story was discarded and regenerated. The child’s own name is the one permitted exception, and it is flagged as such.
The gate the child never sees
The child never sees an unvalidated word. That is the entire promise, and it is the reason this is slower than a chatbot and worth being slower than one.
- GenerateA human-written Recipe, the child’s Cast and interests, and the target sound set.
- ValidateEvery word, every grapheme, against the set. Not a sample. Every one.
- Repair or discardOne failed word bins the story. Silently — the parent never sees a failure either.

- A parent picks the program in the app, or a level they already know, or runs a sixty-second Sound Check. All three resolve onto the same spine.

- Set it sound by sound, deliberately. We are not licensed by any program and do not claim to be — “aligned to” is a description, never “official” or “endorsed”. Send us your sequence and we will add it.
